Outreach Session

The Results Disclosure Session of the iDTool and Zeromould projects took place on June 29th. This event was created from the synergy between two projects whose link is technological innovation, and where both partners had the opportunity to present their respective research.

The iDTool project is a solution that allows the identification and computerization of cutting tools, using RFID devices and intelligent tool management software, which permanently accompany these work instruments and ensure their correct organization.

This initiative was made possible by the partnership with Ribermold, the lead promoter of this project, which made the factory floor available for research, as well as by all the research work developed by the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, the implementation of IOT and factory management sensors by Digiwest, and the software development by Setwin. The creation of the structure and design of the architecture of the cloud model was in charge of HLink.

The ZERO project. MOULD is the development of manufacturing systems and processes in order to reduce the defects/deviations accumulated in the various stages of production of an injection mold. The cooperation created during these 3 years of research was highly fruitful, involving two projects focused on innovation in the mold industry. During this period, Ribermold provided a specific innovation and development unit, which enabled joint learning for both consortiums.

In this way, through the development of these projects, new functionalities and new products are proposed that aim to make the works in the mold industry faster and more effective.
